My animals come from the Aesop Fables, which are stories told over a thousand years ago. The impatient rabbit, the vein deer, the greedy dog…  We relate to their story in one way or another. When I was a child, I always thought of these morals as lessons to be learnt and never repeated. The process of carefully carving and observing these characters in my hand allowed me to look into the stories from a different angle. The way they revealed themselves through carving led me to see past judgment and closer towards an acceptance of the way we are.
